Terry got new trees! The thought of buying new trees and having them planted was overwhelming to me, and I didn't see the need. I certainly didn't want leaves to rake and didn't see why Terry would want more trees to mow around! I was also afraid the wind might blow the leaves into our future pool! But yes, Terry got us some new trees and I'm glad he did! Sixteen trees, to be exact!! Four apple trees (pink ladies), 8 maple, and 4 persimmon. So the apple trees are the start of a fruit tree orchard - future plans to add peach trees; the maple trees line our driveway and are already 20+ feet tall. They should have red and yellow leaves on them by fall! The persimmon trees are on the far side of the farm near the woods. Terry hopes they will attract the deer.
Terry and I have been very, very busy with work - the 8 hour a day kind of work. Only it's been more than 8 hours lately, especially for Terry. We have also been busy shopping all over the place looking at floors and bathroom tiles, as well as doors, carpet, paint colors, and lighting fixtures. We ordered all our lighting (almost all) and ceiling fans. We have a storage unit, but we had to get a 2nd storage unit, because we also bought some furniture. I keep hoping we are getting the "right" things, but I just need to realize that if we like it, it's "right!" At least for us -- it's all relative! We still need to choose the countertops for kitchens and bathrooms. That should be fun, right? Our builder is saying things should be wrapping up by end of May to middle of June. Sounds good to me, but until then -- there's still lots to do! The workers have been wonderful -- very meticulous, taking pride in all they do. Terry and I are amazed at the workmanship and beauty of the logs and wood inside the house. We would do it all over again! Yay!

Terry's little vegetable garden...stay tuned next year for a much larger garden, brought to you by a new plow and more TIME! But I love this garden, which will have tomatoes, squash, and zucchini
