Hooray for some dry wall!! We really did want SOME painted dry wall in our home (as much as we love the wood), especially in the bedrooms. So we think we have just the right combination - at least for us. We had originally planned to have the entire basement in dry wall, except for the stone fireplace, but changed our minds and told them to put the log siding on either side of the fireplace down to each end of that smaller basement wall. The stain is turning out to be beautiful, even though it is a little darker than what I chose and imagined. I chose the light natural, but after the second coat the light natural looks more like dark natural. It's fine, though, because it is beautiful and shows the grains better than the one coat of light natural.
